In the first quarter of 2025, the iOS platform in South America saw significant activity among the leading carpooling and ridesharing apps. Here’s a closer look at how these apps performed, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Uber - Request a ride maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads starting at around 123K at the beginning of the quarter, peaking at about 136K in mid-February, and ending at approximately 100K. The app's weekly active users showed a consistent upward trend, beginning at 6.7M and increasing to nearly 7.9M by the end of March.

inDrive. Save on city rides experienced a fluctuating download rate, starting at 74.5K, dipping to 49.9K, and then rising again to 63K by the end of the quarter. The app's weekly active users also saw a positive trend, growing from 2M to over 2.1M.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides had a steady increase in downloads, beginning at 37K, with a notable spike to 64K at the end of February, and closing the quarter at approximately 50K. The active users grew from 1.7M to nearly 2M by the end of March.

Yango: taxi, food, delivery saw a remarkable rise in downloads, starting at 20K and reaching a peak of 73K in early March. Its active users increased significantly from 261K to over 471K throughout the quarter.

BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus experienced a decline in downloads from 49K to about 24K by the end of the quarter. However, the app's active users showed resilience, starting at 915K, dipping mid-quarter, and climbing back to 735K by March's end.
